DuChene and Shilan explain the concept of outsourcing your design work to an independent designer as opposed to hiring someone to do the work in-house. As an independent designer himself, DuChene pointed out that he is like any other subcontractor. In other words, he can be hired on a per project basis. He pays his own insurance and uses his own vehicle and cell phone, etc., so there are no additional expenses to his contractor customers. He can typically turn around the work faster than your in-house designer and does everything digitally on DynaSCAPE allowing him to send his drawings as a PDF to any print shop, such as Staples, providing you with a full-sized, color rendered plan to present to your clients.
